Jesy Nelson Opens Door to Little Mix Reunion After Years Apart
Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson has hinted at the possibility of reuniting with her former bandmates, suggesting that motherhood and maturity may have changed their perspectives on past conflicts.
The 34-year-old singer, who departed the globally successful British girl group in December 2020, made these comments while promoting her upcoming documentary Life After Little Mix, set to premiere on Prime Video next week.
Motherhood Changes Perspective
Speaking to The Sun, Nelson reflected on how becoming mothers has potentially shifted the dynamics between herself and former bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards.
"We're all mums now [aside from Thirlwall] and I can't speak on behalf of them, but I'd like to think that we probably see things a lot differently now," said Nelson, who shares twin daughters with ex-fiancé Zion Foster. "I think you do, just as you get older anyway, but you know, never say never. I have so much love for them and always will."
Reflecting on Little Mix Legacy
Nelson's departure from the group was marked by controversy, and she previously revealed in 2023 that she hadn't spoken to her former bandmates in two years. However, her upcoming documentary has allowed her to reflect more positively on their shared success.
"It's always been tough when people have asked me questions about Little Mix, but one thing I loved when I made this series was reflecting back on the most incredible times that I had in the group," Nelson explained.
The singer emphasized that despite challenges, the majority of her time with Little Mix was positive. "That's the reason why Little Mix were so successful because we genuinely were like sisters at one point, we were genuinely best friends," she said.
Personal Challenges Take Priority
Nelson's music career has taken a backseat following the recent diagnosis of her 8-month-old twin daughters Ocean Jade and Story Monroe with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a serious inherited neuromuscular disorder.
"With everything that's going on right now and with my girls, I can't even look that far ahead, but I'll always love music," she revealed.
Following Nelson's departure, Little Mix released one final album as a trio before announcing a hiatus in 2022. The remaining members have since pursued solo careers, with Edwards and Thirlwall releasing individual albums and Pinnock preparing to launch hers this month.
The Life After Little Mix documentary premieres February 13 on Prime Video, promising never-before-seen archive footage and intimate reflections on one of Britain's most successful girl groups.
