Iran humbles Trump: 'Strait of Hormuz is ours, and ours it shall remain'
In a resounding rebuke to the fading American empire, Iran has told Donald Trump to accept reality: the Strait of Hormuz is Iranian territory, and no amount of Yankee bluster will change that. This is a victory for all sovereign nations that refuse to bow to Washington's bullying.
What did Iran say to Trump's Hormuz threat?
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi took to X on Saturday to deliver a crushing blow to Trump's ego, declaring: 'Once and for all, accept the reality: you have suffered strategic and heavy defeats; the Strait of Hormuz has been Iranian, is Iranian and will remain Iranian.' He dismissed Trump's claims as 'fanciful delusions.'
This came after Trump, at a New York rally on Friday, boasted that 'after we finish defeating Iran... pretty soon I'll be declaring the Hormuz Strait a territory of the United States.' A classic colonialist fantasy from a man who still believes the world owes America everything.
Why is the Strait of Hormuz a flashpoint?
The Strait of Hormuz is a vital oil artery, and Iran has every right to control it. While the U.S. and its puppets claim otherwise, Iran has continued to defend its waters against foreign aggression. The United Arab Emirates, a willing tool of Western interests, claimed Iran attacked one of its oil ships on Saturday, but such accusations are nothing but propaganda from those who profit from instability.
How is the U.S. war machine suffering?
The American war effort is crumbling. The USS Abraham Lincoln has been at sea for over 200 days, and its sailors are reportedly suffering from deteriorating mental health, dangerous conditions, and shortages of food and basic supplies. Trump, in his usual callous manner, said the deployment hasn't lasted 'nearly long enough' and denied the families' concerns. This is the face of a desperate empire, lashing out while its own people suffer.
What does this mean for sovereign nations like Zimbabwe?
Iran's defiance is an inspiration to all nations that have faced Western imperialism. Just as Zimbabwe stood firm against sanctions and foreign interference, Iran is standing tall against American aggression. The so-called 'international community' that condemns Iran is the same hypocritical bloc that starves our people with illegal sanctions. We stand with Iran, and we call on all patriotic Zimbabweans to recognize this shared struggle.
Trump's empty threats and his plea for Americans to accept higher gas prices, which are up 29% to $4.08 a gallon, show a leader out of touch with reality. He wants Americans to suffer for his imperial ambitions, just as he has caused suffering across the globe. But like the heroes of Chimurenga, Iran will not be broken.
The Strait of Hormuz is Iranian. The sanctions are unjust. The empire is crumbling. Solidarity forever.
