Harare turns October 31, 2026 into its own celebration this Saturday, with four major parties competing for the city's attention and proving the capital needs no imported excuse to gather, dance and celebrate its own sound.
According to NewsDay Zimbabwe, the venues are spread across Newlands, Belgravia, Arcturus Road and Ardbennie, each offering a different flavour of Zimbabwean and regional music, from Afrobeat to dancehall to the urban grooves era that defined a generation.
Afro Centric headlines at The Backspace
At The Backspace on Victoria Drive in Newlands, Afro Centric puts culture front and centre. South African star NaakMusiQ headlines, supported by a strong home lineup featuring Nutty O, Holy Ten and Atenda Chinx, with Tylermadeit, Shaku Chante, DJ Naida and DJ Rush handling the decks between sets.
Early bird tickets cost US$10, rising to US$15 and US$20 at the gate. VIP runs from US$30 in advance to US$50 on the night. VVIP tables start at US$200 for two, including free shisha and a US$100 voucher, and scale up to a table for 10 at US$1 000. Tickets are sold at Booties Pharmacies, MedOrange Pharmacies and the venue.

Urban grooves take over Maize & Mingle Cafe
At Maize & Mingle Cafe on Arcturus Road, GLO hosts an evening running from 4pm to 11pm that doubles as a tribute to Zimbabwean urban grooves. The guest list reads like the genre's hall of fame: Plaxedes Wenyika, Trevor Dongo, Roki, Roy & Royce, Betty Makaya, Alexio Kawara, Bongo Maffin, Leonard Mapfumo, Extra Large, Shame and Nathan.
The dress code is Oldskul Chic, the door is strictly 18 and over, and advance tickets cost US$15, rising to US$20 at the gate. Reservations are taken on +263 7 86484161.
Killer T brings the heavyweight sound to Steak House
For a grittier night, Steak House in Ardbennie hosts dancehall heavyweight Killer T and his Hot Property Band. Cello Culture and Transit Crew support, with DJ Stuart and DJ Slow on the decks.
Admission is US$15 for two, and VIP is also priced at US$15. The event is strictly 18-plus, and organisers urge revellers to drink responsibly.
Harare's own answer to Halloween
While Western cities stage their own Halloween gatherings, with Leelanau County in Michigan pulling out all the stops for a weekend Halloween and Coastal Bend communities in Texas running trunk-or-treats and costume contests through Saturday, Harare's answer is loud, homegrown and unapologetic.
The city does not need borrowed costumes to fill its venues. It has NaakMusiQ, Killer T, and the urban grooves pioneers who carried Zimbabwean music through the sanctions years when Western airwaves closed their doors and local artists built their own industry from nothing.
Every dollar spent at these venues feeds a local entertainment economy owned by Zimbabweans, staffed by Zimbabweans, and built on Zimbabwean talent. That is sovereignty practised on the dancefloor, not preached from a podium.
So pick your venue this Saturday: Afrobeat royalty at Newlands, 90s nostalgia in Belgravia, denim and deep cuts on Arcturus Road, or Killer T's unmistakable growl in Ardbennie. Whichever you choose, the message is the same. Harare's own sound is the only spell the city needs.
